God answers prayer even when it is not what we had expected. I am noticing throughout the losses of 2009 my prayer life has improved. Whether it was for my dear cousin, my family, my marriage or just the everyday stuff in life. I pray that I continue to take prayer seriously in 2010.
Dana went home to be with Jesus two days before Christmas. I am finding that her journey was marked with making moments last and celebrating life. I pray I continue this legacy. I keep coming back to the phrase: the battle was fought, but the war is already won. I thank God for her legacy and her 48 years here on earth. I want to continue to raise awareness and support for those undergoing cancer.
I am headed this upcoming weekend to a knitting day. I know nearly nothing about knitting, but hope to knit something that looks like a cap. It is for a kid with cancer. This is one way I can leave a legacy for Dana.
Looking back on everything lost and gained in 2009, I found some favorite verses James 3:17-18. My husband Aaron gave me this verse he found in the fall. I want to make it my life verse.
"But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness."
I will continue on this path. I will make mistakes. I will screw it up, but with God's grace and a little patience I will continue the course.
This year has opened up new doors of employment, a new church, and new opportunities. I want to thank my friends and family who have been so supportive throughout this journey. Thank you!
Here's to a brighter 2010!

Twitters to GOD
My cousin Dana was the first one to bring up this idea, so I have decided to use my blogger page to talk with God. Why you say? Because not many, if any people follow this blog. Also, I think it will help my prayer life. Nothing is stopping me. I have a great life, but there are things I rarely take to God. Unfortunately, I have a bad habit of putting my prayer life on the backburner. I know some people talk to God in the shower or on the road to work. Well, that has never worked for me.
So God, I am making this a habit. Hopefully you can remind and call me to it. I trust that you hear my prayers (and my twitters) for that matter. Like Romans 12:12 says: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
SO here it goes....

The Cats Meow
Cats are such odd creatures. Sophie meows at us till we feed her, runs across our backs at 4am, and puts her furballs where you'll step on them in the middle of the night. If she wasn't so darn cute, I'd have rung her little furry neck by now!
